Extra large Balochi coin necklace from Afghanistan featuring a beautiful large Nava pendant and large matching jewel coins with lots of colorful beading. These necklaces are so striking in appearance! Sewn together in sections with beaded strips that hold the coins and a connecting pendant section surrounded by beadwork and tassels. Vintage Nava pendant with large glass jewels complements the beadwork and draws the eye with coin dangles and lots of detailing. Four seed bead "wheels" made from glass seed beads sewn into large rounds are strung onto the necklace on either side of the tassels just like large beads would be. This amazing tribal piece is made in a traditional design.
The Baloch or Baluch are a semi-nomadic Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Balochi women wear an assortment of nose-rings, earrings, rings on fingers and toes, necklaces, bracelets, and ornaments in the hair. Jewelry is typically made from gold, silver, or less desirable metals, depending on one's means.
