Vintage Kuchi Coin Necklace - Tribal Baloch Necklace with Jingle Pendant

Amazing vintage Balochi coin necklace featuring lovely red and blue seed bead "wheels", large metal beads and a pretty jingle pendant in the center.  The coin necklace has been around since the development of coins as a monetary exchange - an easy and portable way to carry your wealth.  This one is made from large coins with matching bales.  Seed bead "wheels" are made from glass seed beads sewn into large rounds that are strung onto the necklace just like large beads would be.  The center pendant is embellished with small jewels and jingling bells on dangling chains.  A large and showy vintage piece for a standout look on stage. 

The Baloch or Baluch are a semi-nomadic Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian plateau and encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan.  Balochi women wear an assortment of nose-rings, earrings, rings on fingers and toes, necklaces, bracelets, and ornaments in the hair. Jewelry is typically made from gold, silver, or less desirable metals, depending on one's means.
