Pretty new beaded necklace from Morocco with a large metal pendant called a Khomeissa or Khomissar pendant. These stylized hamsa pendants are usually seen white shell or silvery metal and show five diamond shaped sections. Five is the number associated with good luck and protection. This pendant is on a traditional beaded strand of glass and metal beads. Closes with a hook and ring. Short necklace is perfect for tribal and fusion belly dance performance or for everyday wear.
The Tuareg are a nomadic Berber people, primarily based in the Sahara. The Tuareg are also known as the Blue People because of their indigo-rich clothing. They principally inhabit the Sahara in a vast area stretching from far southwestern Libya to southern Algeria, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and into Nigeria. Traditionally they are nomadic pastoralists.
