New pair of ebony wood earrings from Morocco in a Tuareg design. Drop earrings have metal insets and a bit of etched detailing on the ear wires. Lightweight and easy to wear. Ear wires are a bit larger than modern, western gauge ear wires, but not too large. These could easily be changed out for other wires if desired. Great for belly dance or every day wear!
Tuareg jewelry is much sought after for it's clean lines and geometric style. The Tuareg are a nomadic people, most of whom live in the Saharan and Sahelian regions. They are believed to be descendants of North African Berbers and to have originated in the Fezzan region of Libya. In Tuareg culture, there is great appreciation of the arts, and they are craftsmen of fine silver jewelry, woodwork, and dyed and embroidered leatherwork.
