Three small Berber pendants are probably from an original set. One pendant with large red jewel and enamel, two green jewel pendants with long bales. Three small pendants are an adorable addition to jewelry and accessories. Each piece of Berber jewelry can signify fertility, wealth, or social and marital status. The Berbers or Imazighen (‘Free people’; plural of Amazigh) are the original inhabitants of North Africa. They speak a number of related languages and share a common cultural heritage. Most Berbers today live in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mali, Mauritania and Niger.
