Vintage Balochi Pendants Necklace - Kuchi Tribal Necklace with Beaded Band
Vintage Balochi choker necklace with beaded band, lots of bells and large hollow "puffed" pendants with small jewels. A beaded band connects the pendants in traditional blue and white seed beads to combat that pesky evil eye. Wear as a necklace or use for dance costuming.
These necklaces are an original tribal design, often worn for decades and sometimes repaired many times during their tribal lives. Lots of jingling bells. Pendants have denting and there are some holes on the back of them. I'm not sure if these are wear holes, as they seem to be intentional, but I am not certain. Wear as is or use for an authentic tribal addition to another costuming piece - simply sew into place!
The Baloch or Baluch are semi-nomadic people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, encompassing various regions in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries. Balochi women wear an assortment of nose-rings, earrings, rings on fingers and toes, necklaces, bracelets, and ornaments in the hair. Jewelry is typically made from gold, silver, or less desireable metals, depending on one's means.
