New pair of dangle earrings with stamped design and jingling bells. Traditional Uzbekistani Central Asian design. Fairly lightweight for their size. Hooks are a bit larger gauge than modern western gauge wires. Large size shows up well on stage.
Uzbek jewelry has traditionally been made in silver which “deprives any poison, casts away evil, and guards purity of spirit”. Silver was often combined with rubies, emeralds and sapphires and semiprecious stones, such as pearls, turquoise, jasper and corals. It was believed that jewelry could change your life and keep you safe, so in keeping with that belief, highly decorated pieces were worn not only on the head, neck, ears, and in other usual places, but was also worn attached to braids, on the back and under the arms.
