Tuareg jewelry is much sought after for it's clean lines and geometric style. These beautiful pendants come in an infinite variety and are often highly detailed. Tcherot are worn in Mali, Maurtania and Niger. The word tcherot means “letter”, “message” or “paper on which something is written” and tcherot pendants often contain a slip of paper on which is written verses of the Koran, magic letters, numbers, names of days, names of the stars and planets, or signs representing the eye and worn for protection.
