Beautiful Moroccan hamsa pendant from the Ida Ou Nadif region of the western Anti Atlas Mountains in Morocco. The jewelry from this area Berber is characterized by etched designs, niello detailing and deep red glass jewels. Although this is a new piece, it is still made in a traditional design, including five deep red jewels. The hamsa (Arabic " khamsa "), or Hand of Fatima, is a well-known amulet throughout North Africa and the Middle East. The hamsa is a sign of protection that also represents blessings, power and strength, and is seen as potent in deflecting the evil eye.
