Copal Bead Necklace - Vintage Telsum - Colors of Ethiopia - Belly Dance

Ethiopian style necklace with four telsum pendants in lovely shades of North African jewelry.  Center copal bead joins smaller copal beads, glass, metal and stone in traditional colors of amber, green and orange.  Vintage and new beads sourced from across the globe make a warm, pleasing combination of colors.  Telsum are small triangular and crescent-shaped prayer boxes and are worn for their protective properties.  The triangular pieces are believed to fend off evil spirits and the evil eye, while the rounded pieces protect against spells of the crescent moon. This necklace is newly strung on beading wire with a decorative S clasp at the back.  Part of the Colors of Ethiopia Collection from Red Camel Designs.
