These intricately embellished panels are usually found adorning the sleeves of tribal dresses.  Each panel is lovingly decorated with coins, buttons, beadwork and a bit of metallic trim.  When the dress become worn and is ready to be replaced, the embellished sleeve panels are removed to be reused on a new article of clothing, accessory or perhaps even a household item. Use both pieces to make a longer belt or use separately as bases for a pair of matching belts.  These pieces are in original condition with no reinforcement and should be added to a stronger base to withstand the rigors of dance.

In the old tradition, the Kuchi nomads decorated almost everything they owned, including their animals and themselves.  They used items that were plentiful or easily obtainable, such as glass seed beads and coins, and made others such has stamped metal amulets and buttons.  They also made tassels, poms and to top it all off, embroidered almost everything.  These sleeve panels are just one example of their crafts.  .

This not only maintains the old, tribal look of each piece that our belly dance customers seek, but also preserves the value of a piece that the cleaning process may diminish.
